SEASON’S BLEEDINGS: Halloween Cocktails by Garrett Ghostly

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Which means my partner in spooky crime is back with another round of seasonal cocktails. Get ’em in ya!

VAMPIRE PUNCH
Dark, strong, and… bubbly. Maybe not exactly how you’d describe a creature of the night, but delicious nonetheless.

1 oz whiskey
1 oz spiced rum
0.5 oz lime juice
Dash herbal bitters

Blend in a blender with blueberries and several peach slices, then strain and add a splash of sparkling wine. (Wanna make it a dessert cocktail? Add in a scoop of peach or berry sherbert.)

HADDONFIELD MARGARITA
The unofficial cocktail of the notorious Midwestern town. Perfect around a bonfire, or behind locked doors until the dawn of November 1st comes along.

2 oz gold tequila
1 oz orange liqueur
1.5 oz orange juice
0.5 oz spiced honey syrup
Rimmed with pumpkin spice sugar

HALLOWEEN MULE
A seasonal kick to the traditional cocktail.

(You can find the flavored ginger brew at Trader Joe’s, or just use regular ginger beer after shaking the other ingredients with some pumpkin spice mix.)

2 oz vodka
1 oz lime juice
1 oz orange juice
Pumpkin spice ginger brew

SAMHAIN OLD FASHIONED
A great way to usher in the Halloween season, and to close it out. ‘Til next year, boils and ghouls!

2 oz apple (or peach) flavored whiskey
Herbal bitters
1 tsp water
Pumpkin spice sugar

Dissolve sugar in bitters and water. Mix in whiskey, stir, and serve over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange twist.

As aforementioned, all cocktails were plucked solely from the mind of Garrett Ghostly. For more of his genius, you can give him a follow on Instagram (@garrettghostly) and Twitter (@Garrett_Ghostly). Drink responsibly, y’all!
